Ray Price home hit by lightning
The Ray Price residence on Smiths Valley Road, west of Greenwood was struck by lightning last Thursday and damage has been estimated at $500, from the resulting fire. Mr. Price stated the fire started from an electrical outlet in a bedroom usually occupied by their 13-year-old daughter, Sue Rae, who had fallen asleep the previous night on the davenport in the living room after watching the late show.
The bed and bed clothing were destroyed
in the fire as were part of the costumes for the second production of Theatre
Playhouse, a newly-organized talent group from Marion and Johnson Counties.
The fire was
extinguished by the Greenwood and White River Township Fire Departments. Mr.
Price is the owner of Price’s Repair Shop in Whiteland.
